The CEO will activate the collective talents of the staff and Board to advance educational equity and will provide the vision and support to unleash their energy, talents, and expertise. The CEO will manage staff through department heads and six direct reports, including organizing and directing the work activities of staff, performing performance evaluations, and ensuring professional and leadership growth.
This is a unique opportunity for a people-first, empathetic, and mission-driven leader to drive the implementation of the strategic plan and position the organization for greater impact. This role is based in Nairobi, Kenya and the CEO is expected to work 100% in-person at the office with some travel within the region to oversee programming and limited overseas trips for conferences and funder engagement.
Operational Management:
– Drive organizational effectiveness and efficiency across all departments.
– Manage a staff of 35+ professionals at the headquarters in Nairobi.
– Oversee budgeting, financial management, and reporting to ensure financial health, transparency at all levels, and sustainability.
– Work closely with department heads and direct reports to manage and streamline operations.
Program Development:
– Guide the design, implementation, and evaluation of Dignitas’ programs to ensure they honor and respect community needs, and meet the highest standards of quality and impact.
– Support the development of innovative educational practices and methodologies.
– Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the organization.
