Field Service Technician – Plumbing and Water Treatment Technologies 

The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of water and energy solutions in the region. The group is Kenyan based and operates through a network of Kenyan branches as well as regional subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan, DRC and Zimbabwe. The company has a total complement of over 800 highly trained and professional staff spread across the region and seeks to fill the position Field Service Technician – Plumbing and Water Treatment Technologies.

Reporting to the Service Manager, Nairobi Office, the Field Service Technician- Plumbing and Water Treatment Technologies will be responsible for achievement of the following key tasks;

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing and water treatment systems, including but not limited to water softeners, filtration systems, pumps, pipes, and fixtures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently, both onsite and remotely.
  • Collaborate with customers to identify their needs and provide appropriate solutions, including recommending upgrades or additional services.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Conduct training for customers in the field and in workshops for the company’s products and applications.
  • Track and document installed systems incidents & outages and initiate root cause analysis in liaison with Service Engineer.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Holder of Diploma/HND with Credit in Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical & Electronics or closely related field from a recognized institution
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, water treatment processes, and related equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, and controls.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with the ability to travel to customer sites as required.
