CySuites Apartment Hotel is a luxurious serviced apartment hotel located along Church Road, off Waiyaki Way in Nairobi’s bustling Westland’s area. The hotel offers 32 two-bedroom apartment, 6 one-bedroom apartment and 2 penthouses.

These fully serviced apartments offer contemporary living and working spaces fitted with amenities to meet the needs of short and extended stays within a serene location which is the perfect home away for both business and leisure travellers.

The all-day dining restaurant serves a variety of both Kenyan and continental dishes. The bar area features a fine selection of wines alongside a wide range of spirits and Signature Cocktails.

The hotel has fitness facilities to help you keep up with your fitness regime while staying with us, including a heated pool.

We are looking for a highly motivated and self-driven, team player to work at CySuites Apartments Hotel as a Demi Chef de Partie. The Demi Chef de Partie will be responsible for preparing food products of the highest quality in terms of freshness, taste, and consistency, with strict adherence to food and health guidelines and in accordance with the policies, procedures, and standards established to ensure maximum internal and external customer satisfaction. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure preparation of food products are done effectively and correctly as per the laid down procedures
2. Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
3. Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
4. Ensure all foods and produce received are well labelled, date stamped and stored correctly
5. Ensure the standard recipes for all dishes are followed correctly and maintain uniformity of taste, Quality and portion control
6. Ensure food preparation procedures are followed with critical check on costs and wastage
7. Ensure all relevant documentations are maintained and report the same to immediate supervisor
8. Ensure all stock levels are maintained and correctly documented
9. Supports the smooth running of the kitchen department, where all aspects of the guest dining experience throughout the establishment are delivered to the highest level
10. Works as part of a team that maximizes guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timely response to enquiries and problem solution
11. Takes responsibility for the duties and tasks assigned to the role, ensuring that all work is carried out in a timely and professional manner
12. Delivers on departmental plans and objectives, where Hotel initiatives & targets are achieved
13. Collaborates with the Head Chef, ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled, that productivity and performance levels are attained
14. Builds and maintains effective working relationships whilst promoting the company culture and values.
15. Ensures adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required
16. Supervise and coordinate activities of junior staff engaged in food preparation
17. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

REQUIREMENTS

1. A Diploma / Certificate in Food and Beverage production or related course from a recognized institution
2. Experience as a chef for at least three years
3. Knowledge in HACCP
4. Excellent record in kitchen operations and procedures
5. Exceptional cooking skills
6. Computer skills is an added advantage
