HEAD OF STUDENTS RECRUITMENT

Organisational Relationship: Reports to DVC AFP

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To advise the University on matters of brand management, International marketing, widening participation, PR, events and promotions, including competitor performance, to enhance the profile of the University and meet recruitment targets.
  2. To collaborate with deans and other heads in delivering exceptional performance
  3. To develop integrated communications messages from start to end of the student recruitment cycle.
  4. To develop the annual strategic student recruitment plan in accordance with the University’s strategic framework.
  5. To ensure that effective policy, procedures and processes are in place in relation to all key areas of work, aligned to
    institutional strategy, measuring performance, including oversight of effective risk management.
  6. To ensure that marketing activity supports the international student’s recruitment and reputation of the university
    and, where resource is available, support the activities of the student shows and performances.
  7. To ensure the integration of all courses in the recruitment and marketing activity in collaboration with Deans and other Heads.
  8. To form effective working relationships and collaboration with academic staff for the promotion of the brand, marketing activity and event management.
  9. To have an ambassadorial role both in terms of internal leadership of the department and with associated external facing responsibilities.
  10. To have line management responsibility for the department’s services and functions providing overall leadership of all staff within the department and encourage effective working and relationships between teams.
  11. To hold institutional responsibility for corporate marketing to support recruitment to the offer, enhance the brand and profile.
  12. To hold institutional responsibility for internal and external communications, Public Relations, in support of the strategy plan; developing consistency and quality in the key messages for internal and external audiences and stakeholders with all marketing assets
  13. To hold responsibility for the effective organisation, deployment and performance of all staff in the department and to foster and facilitate a supportive environment for staff development.
  14. To lead on CUEA’s marketing and advertising strategies.
  15. To meet University targets on admissions and contribute to the high profile and reputation of CUEA.
  16. To oversee and lead the university’s outreach strategy to achieve access and participation targets set by the office for Students
  17. To oversee the organisation and production of cohesive marketing materials to promote an all-through offer, while being sensitive to different target audiences and the University’s equalities strategy.
  18. To plan and manage the annual budget for recruitment and marketing.
  19. To plan and manage University events and promotions in support of raising the University’s profile and the recruitment
  20. pipeline, e.g. Graduation ceremonies, exhibitions and open days.
  21. To promote, monitor, analyse and report on the effectiveness of student recruitment to meet institutional strategic aims.
  22. To provide exceptional leadership and hold accountability for the delivery of key targets as required by the strategic framework
  23. To raise the University’s profile through continued and innovative media profiling, public and press relations, promotional events and materials, including through the management of the website and social media development

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Competences

  1. Masters Degree in Marketing or other relevant field from a recognized institution.
  2. Experience of delivering engaging, persuasive presentations
  3. Ability to work as a part of a team
  4. Able to represent the University with enthusiasm and integrity to applicants and their advisors as well to external organisations
  5. Self-motivated to work independently without close supervision, using own nitiative to resolve problems
  6. A positive, energetic attitude
  7. At least 5 years of corporate marketing, colaborations and international linkages
  8. Experience and proven ability of working with young people
  9. Experience of developing and delivering events organising group acivities for a variety of audiences
  10. capacity to conduct in-depth analysis
  11. Experience of developing innovative solutions that meet or exceed targets
  12. An excellent ability to communicate effectively with various individuals and groups including senior leaders
  13. A proven ability to deal with a varied and complex workload, including the ability to organise your own workload, priotising a variety of tasks while working under pressure and to strict deadlines. Ability to use all Microsoft Office packages.
  14. Ability to work effectively in Fast-paced and dynamic environment and be able to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
