COUNTY PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD
Vihiga County Public Service Board is a corporate body established under Section 57 of the County Government Act, 2012, as per Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. Section 59 of the County Government Act, 2012, outlines the Board’s functions. In line with these legal provisions, Vihiga County Public Service Board invites applications from qualified individuals for the following positions:
Department of Finance, Revenue, and Supply Chain Management
1. Senior Sub-County Revenue Officer – Job Group L (2 Posts)
Reporting to: Principal Revenue Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities of the Revenue Directorate at the Sub-County Headquarters.
- Plan, direct, and oversee revenue unit operations.
- Develop strategies for revenue mobilization.
- Manage the training and development of revenue unit staff.
- Supervise and coordinate revenue collection in adherence with county regulations.
- Identify and report untapped revenue sources.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on revenue collection targets, trends, and variances.
- Conduct revenue potential assessments and baseline surveys for existing and new revenue streams.
- Detect, prevent, and report fraudulent activities in revenue collections.
- Ensure authorized County documents are used in revenue collection.
- Maintain safe custody of County revenue assets and records.
- Provide leadership and guidance to revenue collectors.
- Report revenue defaulters.
- Ensure accurate accounting and prompt banking of collected revenue.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Kenyan citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance) or Business Administration/Management (Accounting or Finance) from a recognized institution.
- Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA K) and membership in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
- At least five (5) years of experience in a similar role in the public or private sector.
- Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
Salary and Benefits: As per the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
Terms of Service: 3-year renewable contract.
Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries
2. Assistant Leather Development Officer II – Job Group [] (1 Post)
Minimum Requirements
- KCE Division III or C- mean grade in KCSE with credits in relevant subjects.
- Diploma in Leather Technology, Animal Health, Environmental Resource Management, Leather Goods Design and Development, or Footwear Technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide advisory services on rural tannery projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and layout plans for tanneries.
- Develop effective effluent treatment plans for small-scale tanneries.
- Monitor, train, and supervise hide and skin curing services and maintain records of leather activities in the County.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by the County Director of Veterinary Services.
Salary and Benefits: As per the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.
