The Financial Risk Manager will act as a center of excellence for financial risk management, overseeing best practices in capital adequacy, liquidity risk, market risk, and financial risk stress testing. You will ensure the organization’s financial risk policies, limits, and strategies comply with regulations, rating agency standards, and strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Risk Management

  • Oversee and monitor all financial risk management activities across the organization.
  • Develop and implement policies for liquidity, counterparty risk, and market risk, ensuring compliance with internal frameworks and controls.
  • Lead projects related to the Group’s market risk framework.

2. Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare detailed reports for Executive Management, ALCO, EXCO, and Board Audit & Risk Committee meetings.
  • Develop comprehensive stress test scenarios for key market risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Quantify liquidity and market risks under the Internal Capital Management process.

3. Risk Monitoring and Frameworks

  • Capture, monitor, control, and report on the Group’s market and liquidity risks daily.
  • Suggest, develop, and implement measures to enhance the risk management framework and internal controls.
  • Ensure that market risk limits (VaR, sensitivities, stress tests) align with the Group’s risk appetite and desk mandates.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to address risk issues prior to introducing new products.
  • Recommend market risk limits, including dealer and exposure limits, in line with the organization’s risk appetite.
  • Communicate key risks to senior management and the Board through clear and concise presentations.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial risk management, with 2-3 years in a managerial role.
  • Accreditation in financial risk management or actuarial certification is required.
  • Prior experience in financial risk management within the financial services sector.

Competencies

  • Expertise in capital adequacy, liquidity risk, market risk, and financial stress testing.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements and products.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex risk data in an easy-to-understand format for senior stakeholders.
