JOB SUMMARY 

The position is responsible for mobilization and organizing field level activities for the peer leaders and program beneficiaries of the project and any other relevant community events. It supports in the facilitation of the project activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

R1. Program

T1. Facilitate the provision of the comprehensive DREAMS package of service to Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGWY) with fidelity in accordance with, national and donor guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

T2. Organize quarterly, monthly and weekly ward-level planning sessions, generate work plans and budgets.

T3. Facilitate delivery of activities in the approved work plans and associated budgets and communicate any needed changes to the Ward coordinator prior to implementing these changes.

T4. Conduct on-site monitoring visits and conduct fortnightly formal feedback sessions with mentors and other field staff and document through minutes deliberations of these meetings.

T5. Work in collaboration with other departments including HR, finance, procurement and administration to ensure all financial and administrative aspects are carried out seamlessly and in line with relevant policies and procedures.

R2. Collaboration and Networking

T1. Identify technical capacity gaps among project mentors, facilitators & volunteers and facilitate training and mentoring to close the gaps.

T2. Facilitate team work and problem-solving activities with field program team.

T3. Represent the project during networking meetings when assigned

T4. Work with government HIV/AIDS structures at Sub-County (also county level when called upon) as well as other partners to provide and/or receive programmatic and technical assistance as indicated or requested. This includes participating in Sub-County Health Stakeholders Forums and Sub-County level Annual Operating Planning.

T5. Establish and maintain a directory of all key partners and service providers including health facilities, legal service providers, education institutions, etc and use the directory to link AGYW to appropriate services as outlined in the DREAMS core package.

R3. Monitoring, Evaluation Reporting and learning

T1. Ensure that all approved data tools are available to all field teams in the ward and are used to document service delivery and filed as outlined in the M&E SOPs.

T2. Document success stories, lessons learned and challenges to inform program decisions monthly.

T3. Prepare program monthly and quarterly reports using the approved templates.

T4. Ensure functional QI teams at the ward level to address low-performing indicators and any emerging issues.

Level of Education/Academic Qualification

  • A Certificate in Community Development, Public Health or related course or engagement in community projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in collecting data for research is an added advantage

  • Willingness to travel to, hard to reach sometimes in harsh terrain and underserved areas and facilitate HTS service provision.

Relevant Work Experience

  • At least two (2) years’ experience in the DREAMS program (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability in adolescent and youth sexual reproductive health & rights planning and facilitation.
