JOB DETAILS

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining Patient Records
  • Cataloguing and maintaining proper patient records OP/ IP.
  • Ensuring systematic filing of all patient records to allow for easy retrieval 
  • Ensuring the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
  • Maintaining a log of all files that are requested noting which department / Manager they have been dispatched to, the date and ensures / follows up for their return.
  • Retrieving and dispatching patient cards / files as and when required. 
  • Ensuring that archiving of old files is done.
  • Ensure proper disposal of medical records per the organization’s policies.
  • Prepare and maintain periodic Ministry of Health reports
  • Keep statistics of cost of treatment, top disease patterns.
  • Maintaining, recording, analyzing, interpreting and disseminating data on specific cases which will be used prepare statistical reports (monthly, quarterly and annual) on patient statistics per location, disease trends, mortality, bed occupancy)
  • Compiling the Annual Health Statistical Report. 
  • Any other duty as assigned by your supervisor in line with the job description.

Person Specification

•Degree in Health Records and Information Technology.

•Valid licence from the Health Records and Information Managers Board.

•At least 3 years work experience in a hospital setting.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Attention to detail.
