Job Summary

To assist in field activities for research projects within IHD. This includes but not limited to; data management activities (collection, cleaning, coding, translation etc.), assist in planning of field work, consent study participants, stakeholder mapping, and mobilize participants from the community. We are keen to get candidates who are locals and based in Murang’a county.

Responsibilities

  • To actively participate and complete training.
  • To test the survey instruments for data collection by the following stipulated procedures and protocols in collecting
  • Explaining study procedures to respondents to ensure that they understand the process.
  • To conduct interviews in the field following the survey instruments and verify data for accuracy and completeness.
  • To ensure confidentiality and security of data through proper storage of study documents.
  • To documents issues that arise in the field and communicate them to your supervisor.
  • To perform duties as allocated by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • A degree/diploma in Community Development, Public Health or Project Management, or any other related field.

Relevant Experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in qualitative and/or mixed methods research including moderating focus group discussions and conducting in-depth interviews.
  • Experience in data coding and data transcription and translation is an added advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, Kiswahili.
  • Strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge and research data management.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in community engagement in research.
  • Excellent demonstrated teamwork and coordination skills.

Personal Characteristics

  • Can work with minimal or under no supervision.
  • Ability to observe and embrace cultural diversity.
  • Good interpersonal relationships.
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
  • Keen desire to learn and proactive team member.
