Programme Manager, Inclusive Trade – Fisheries

Working closely with the Business Competitiveness, West Africa & AfCFTA, and Inclusive Trade Director, the Programme Manager Inclusive Trade- Fisheries will be responsible for the implementation of Women and Youth Economic Empowerment in Fisheries through Inclusive Market Access project funded by the Master Card Foundation in line with TMA’s corporate strategy. He/she is responsible for design and implementation of the Fisheries project using a market systems approach. He/she shall manage partner and donor relationships for results delivery and facilitate cross-learning and knowledge generation in relation to the inclusive trade strategic priorities across the organisation. This role requires close collaboration with other units in TMA such as Market Access, Programme Delivery Unit, Regional and Country Programme teams and implementing partners.

Chief of Party (COP), USAID-Economic Recovery and Reform Activity (USAID-ERRA)

Deadline: 8 September 2024

Requirement: This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya

We are looking to appoint an outstanding leader to lead the USAID-ERRA programme which aims to support economicrecovery, and reform in Eastern Africa (including DRC and the Horn but not Southern Africa) . The objectives of the $75m programme are:

  1. support labour intensive, export-oriented value chains for recovery and job creation.
  2. support trade facilitation and deepening regional integration.
  3. support greater resilience in the region.

The Chief of Party (COP) will have the overall strategic oversight in designing a high impact and high expenditure program and ensure successful delivery of the programme. This will include overseeing the implementation of Objective 1 (Value Chains), Objective 2 (Trade Facilitation) and Objective 4 (Resilience) of ERRA as well as ensuring knowledge and learning generation and dissemination. Experience with USAID grants and projects is required.

Senior Director, Trade Environment

The Senior Director, Trade Environment, will have oversight of three of TMA’s six technical portfolios – ensuring that trade policy and the trade regulatory environment responds to the challenges of the future, not least tackling Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs) and positioning Africa as a pioneer in green trade; ensuring that national bodies and the private sector can respond in an agile way to formal and informal requirements from offtakers, driving harmonisation and helping exporters to navigate the financial and technical burdens of standards; and making trade processes and systems more efficient and better suited to trade through digitalisation and innovation.

Programme Officer, BEEEP

Deadline: 23 August 2024

The Programme Officer will support delivery of TradeMark Africa (TMA)’s Kenya Country programme and among others, be responsible for the delivery of expenditure and results from existing programmes such as the Business Environment and Export Enhancement Programme (BEEEP), funded by the EU, by providing high quality and diligent Programme Cycle Management (PCM) and end to end programme support in line with the overall TMA Theory of Change (TOC). The job holder will work closely with the Programme Manager, Market Systems and the Country Director, Kenya, to ensure that the projects within the Kenya Country programme applies best management practices in line with TMA’s PCM guidelines and those of donors such as the EU, USAID, FCDO and DANIDA among others.
S/he will manage the process of the annual work planning cycle with technical teams at the EU and assist with the consolidation of all project plans according to EU guidelines. In addition, the job holder will carry out administrative activities, including consolidation of quarterly and annual reports, taking minutes in meetings, enhancing programme’s visibility through communicationssupport, and take a lead in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities. The officer will also be responsible for any other functions that may be required to ensure effective delivery of the country programme.
