Senior Political Officer HEO

Main purpose of job:

Use in depth knowledge of Kenya’s political environment and system to inform UK policy and activity in Kenya.  Grow the UK’s network of political contacts and relationships (with e.g.  political actors, civil society, media and religious leaders). Provide thoughtful, balanced and timely advice on the impact of political developments to UK interests in Kenya. Use knowledge to spot opportunities and manage risks.  Lead on specific areas of UK policy – in particular support our work to strengthen Kenya’s institutions including Kenya’s constitutionally mandated bodies.  Use knowledge and networks to support delivery of objectives under the UK Kenya Strategic Partnership.

Main purpose of job:

Main purpose of job:

Use in depth knowledge of Kenya’s political and governance system to inform UK policy and activity in Kenya related: 1) community security 2) human rights – especially the rights of women and girls and 3) Kenya’s role in peacebuilding in the wider region.   Grow the UK’s network of political contacts and relationships (with e.g.  political actors, civil society, media and religious leaders) to deliver objectives related to these three policy areas. Main purpose of job:This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of Nairobi’s biggest Foreign Missions, supporting the planning and delivery of events for the High Commissioner (HC), two Deputy High Commissioners’ (DHCs) and other High Commission events. The job holder will be expected to work with the Residence & Events Manager to plan and deliver a wide variety of small, medium and  major events for the High Commission.

Diary Manager AO – (15/24 NR)

Main purpose of job:

The Job Holder will manage all aspects of the High Commissioner’s (HC’s) diary, working closely with Chief of Staff, the PAs to the Deputy High Commissioners, Visits Officer and Events Coordinator to make the best use of time available for priority issues ensuring all logistical/administrative arrangements are in place.

The Job Holder will arrange meetings and plan through short-notice changes in response to daily and weekly diary management. This position requires attention to detail, ability to prioritize and deconflict diary requests by presenting options to the Chief of staff for discussion. The job holder will be required to spot opportunities which present most effective use of HC’s time. They should also have good organisation skills, enthusiasm and a willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances. It also requires proactivity, excellent communication and good collaboration skills.

The Job Holder will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and build close relations to leverage on a daily basis, while learning the HC’s preferred working styles, prioritising and adapting to the fast-paced nature of the HC’s office.

 Furnishings Assistant S3 (14/24 NR)

Main purpose of job:

The Furnishings Assistant will be responsible for the safe delivery, collection and moving of furniture and accessories within the office and the large residential Estate. The individual will support the Furnishings Team Driver when work demands require extra support in the movement of goods around the estate via van and canter. They will be responsible for the cleaning of properties before a new tenant moves in and general upkeep and cleaning of the furnishings stores.
