Job Description:
Casual Workers/General Labourers are required to undertake a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks in different areas within the hospital. The role demands physical stamina and attention to detail, ensuring that all public and private spaces within the hospital are kept in pristine condition.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Dusting, sweeping, and mopping all assigned areas.
- Vacuuming carpets and cleaning ceiling vents.
- Ensuring hospital wards are kept clean and sanitary.
- Public Space Upkeep:
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of all public spaces, including hallways, offices, and waiting areas.
- Ensuring that trash is emptied and disposed of appropriately.
- Errands:
- Running various errands as instructed by the supervisor.
- Assisting in any additional tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of the hospital.
- Other Duties:
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment:
- Citizenship: Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
- Residency: Must be a resident of Migori County.
- Physical and Medical Fitness:
- Must be physically fit to perform general labor tasks.
- Must be medically fit to work in a hospital environment.
- Education:
- Possession of a basic academic qualification of KCPE (Kenya Certificate of Primary Education).
- KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) holders will have an added advantage.
- Communication Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and/or Kiswahili.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Legal Requirements:
- Must possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Remuneration:
The salary for this position is as per the General Wages Order of Kenya, as stipulated from time to time. Additional benefits may be provided in accordance with the terms of employment.
