The Kitale National Polytechnic was established in 1980 by the government with the assistance of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). It officially opened as a Technical Training Institute in 1985. Â In 1986, Kitale Technical School was converted to a Technical Training Institute initially offering only Artisan courses and ACNC (KASNEB).
In 1987 craft courses were introduced in the area of engineering, building and CPA in Business area. Â Diploma courses in various disciplines were introduced in 1991. In 2016 it was among the technical training institutions that were upgraded to National Polytechnics Via Order No. 95 of 2016.

1. Farm Manager
As a Farm Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the polytechnic’s farm. This includes managing agricultural operations, implementing modern farming techniques, supervising farm staff, and ensuring the overall success and sustainability of the farm.
2. Agri-Mech Technician
The Agri-Mech Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing agricultural machinery. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, conducting routine maintenance, and implementing technological advancements in farm equipment.
3. Secretary
We are looking for a skilled Secretary to provide administrative support to the management team. Duties include managing schedules, handling correspondence, organizing meetings, and ensuring efficient communication within the polytechnic.
4. Assistant Librarian
As an Assistant Librarian, you will contribute to the educational environment by assisting in the organization and management of the polytechnic’s library. This includes cataloging, assisting students in research, and maintaining a conducive study atmosphere.
5. Reprographic Officer
The Reprographic Officer will be responsible for managing the reproduction and distribution of educational materials. This role involves operating reprographic equipment, ensuring quality reproduction, and maintaining an organized system for document distribution.
6. Cook
The Cook will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for students and staff. This role includes menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
7. ICT Technician
The ICT Technician will be responsible for maintaining the polytechnic’s information technology infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing network resources, and providing technical support to users.
8. Hydraulic/Pneumatic Technician
As a Hydraulic/Pneumatic Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in various technical applications. This role involves troubleshooting, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring the optimal performance of systems.
9. Building Technician

15. Accounts Clerks
The Accounts Clerks will be responsible for financial record-keeping, processing transactions, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles are essential for this role.
16. Farm Attendants
Farm Attendants will support the Farm Manager in carrying out day-to-day farm activities. This includes crop cultivation, animal care, and general maintenance of the farm.
