The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) invites applications from qualified candidates to fill 20,000 teacher internship positions in Junior Schools, supporting the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Position: Junior Secondary Teacher Interns (Regular & Special Needs Education Schools)
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a Kenyan citizen.
- Must have at least a Diploma in Education, with a minimum KCSE grade of C+ and C+ in two teaching subjects, or equivalent qualifications.
- Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission.

General Information for Applicants

- Insurance Requirement: Selected candidates must secure Personal Accident Insurance covering personal risks during the internship period.
- Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on merit, based on available vacancies in each county.
- Posting: Successful candidates may be posted to any Junior Secondary School within the county where they interviewed or elsewhere if vacancies exist.

- Copy of the Teacher Registration Certificate or print-out from the TSC portal as proof of registration.
- Copy of the National Council for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) card, if applicable.
- Copy of National ID or Passport.
- Two (2) color passport-size photos.
- Copy of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) PIN.
About the Teacher Internship Program
The Teacher Internship Program is a one-year program designed to build competencies for entry-level teachers. This program targets unemployed, registered teachers, placing them in schools where they will gain valuable experience through mentorship, coaching, and hands-on teaching.
- Duration: The internship lasts for twelve (12) months.
- Monthly Stipend: Interns will receive Kshs. 20,000 monthly, subject to statutory deductions.
- Certification: Upon completion, interns will receive an internship certificate.
