An influencer on Instagram reported her husband to the police after he urged her to spend more time on household chores rather than making content.
The influencer, going by the name ‘Nisha,’ is based out of Uttar Pradesh, a state in India.
Reports from the Deccan Herald, an India-based news outlet, say that she uploaded two reels to Instagram per day and kept a watchful eye on her follower count — so much so that when she lost two followers, she blamed her husband.
Nisha swiftly filed an official complaint to police, saying that her husband was preventing her growth as a social media star by urging her to keep house, instead.
‘’My followers declined as I was kept busy washing utensils and cleaning the house by my husband. I didn’t get time to make reels,’’ she said in the report.

Her husband filed a counter-claim in response, telling police that his wife was too busy on Instagram to keep the house clean — and even threatened to divorce him if she wasn’t allowed to post.
Police sources state that Nisha ended up leaving her husband to stay with her parents over the debacle, but things have since been put to rest.
‘’The matter has been resolved and the woman has returned to her husband,’’ said Aruna Rai, Mahila Thana in-charge.
However, things aren’t all sunshine and roses now that they’re back together. Hindi outlet News18 states that Nisha’s husband lost his job as a result of the legal dispute and maintains that the couple is still living separately.
The outlet claims that her husband is now going “door-to-door” looking for a new occupation and that both denied requests to be interviewed about their viral squabble.
