Grand Theft Auto fans have finally noticed that the second trailer for GTA 6 was actually missing a big feature from the first trailer. Though it might not be bad news.
At the start of May, Rockstar Games delivered a blow to Grand Theft Auto fans, announcing that GTA 6’s release date would be delayed until May 26, 2026.
According to insiders, the game’s delay is “absolutely necessary,” as it would have been in a “significantly worse” place. Additionally, the devs “began cutting a lot of cool stuff” in a bid to make the planned 2025 release date.
The news of the delay was followed by the release of the long-awaited second trailer and close to 100 new screenshots. Grand Theft Auto fans have quickly pored over these new details, searching for hints about the story and what secrets the GTA 6 devs might be hiding in plain sight.
GTA 6 trailer 2 completely ignores social media
In addition to that, players have noticed that the big focus on social media, which was prevalent in the first trailer, was completely missing in the second trailer.
“I doubt its gonna be as big in the game as many people think it is, it was probably something they just wanted to show off for trailer 1 because they thought it was neat,” one player noted. “We will see stories and reels about our shenanigans rather than hear it like before,” another added.
Others argued that Rockstar simply switched up the focus from a world-building trailer to a more story-focused one. “Trailer 1 is an introduction to the city, it needed social media clips, trailer 2 was focused more on the story, no need to shove social media into trailer 2,” one pointed out.
The past two Grand Theft Auto releases have seen Rockstar increase their focus on parodying real-world events, including social media.
It is something that should play a role in GTA 6, but just how big of a part remains to be seen.
