For years, Fortnite players have imagined what an official Squid Game crossover would look like, and after a long wait, they will be able to see how these two universes converge.
While countless Squid Game fan-made maps in Creative Mode gave us a taste of what a crossover with Fortnite would feel like, Red Light, Green Light, and Glass Bridge remakes included, nothing quite matched the potential of an Epic Games-approved experience. However, that’s about to change.
Veteran of UEFN builds or just casuals who love a good elimination-style challenge have a reason to celebrate: Fortnite x Squid Game collab is real. So, let’s break down everything you need to know about this crossover, from what’s coming to when you can jump in.
Fortnite x Squid Game release date
The Fortnite x Squid Game event officially begins on June 27, 2025. It lands during Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4, which itself launches on June 7, 2025, setting the stage for a summer full of high-stakes games and themed content.
This collab was announced during the Unreal State of Play, alongside an Avatar and a Star Wars creator tools release window too. Then, the official Fortnite X account confirmed it.
Squid Game creator tools in Fortnite
UEFN creators will be able to design their own Squid Game-style maps, with publishing tools expected later in summer 2025.
While fan-made Squid Game islands are already popular in Fortnite’s Creative Mode, this official crossover kicks things up a notch with expanded tools and epic rewards.
It has not been disclosed whether official Squid Game skins, emotes, or cosmetics will be released alongside those tools, but it’s highly likely. After all, collabs like The Walking Dead, TMNT, and Fall Guys all got exclusive cosmetic content, so we wouldn’t expect less for such a highly anticipated crossover.
So, whether you’re in it for the cosmetics, the chaos, or the creative possibilities, this is one collab you don’t want to miss.
In the meantime, you may want to try out some of the already available, homebrew Squid Game maps in Fortnite before all the official assets arrive.
