Fortnite is holding an in-game tribute concert for late rapper XXXTentacion, to celebrate the release of his latest posthumous single featuring Juice WRLD.
Music and Fortnite go hand in hand, as many of the world’s biggest artists have appeared in the game in one form or another. Marshello kicked off the trend back in 2019, and the likes of Metallica, Eminem, and Sabrina Carpenter have all featured in the years since.
They’ve even included tributes for artists who are no longer with us, with Juice WRLD getting his own mini concert during Chapter 2 Remix. Now, another concert is being added to Fortnite, this time for XXXTentacion, who died in 2018.
How to watch XXXTentacion concert in Fortnite
On May 31 at 2.30 PM PDT / 5.30 PM / EDT 10.30 PM BST, the concert takes place on the Super Red vs Blue Creative map by Jogo. You can access it by searching for it from the homescreen, or by entering the Island Code: 2786-2114-8349.
The performance itself is an interactive experience done in collaboration with the XXXTentacion estate and features some of the rapper’s most well-known songs, including ‘Moonlight.’ It also coincides with the release of the ‘Whoa (Mind in Awe) (Remix)’ music video, a new posthumous single featuring Juice WRLD.
As the concert unfolds, the map will begin to change and adapt based on the song that’s playing, fully immersing fans in the experience. It’s also been confirmed that there will be other interactive elements unlocked along the way, allowing you to take part in the show yourself.
To show your support, a ‘Look at Me’ Emote was released on the store for 400 V-Bucks, which you can use during the concert to dance along. It’s all for a good cause, too, as a portion of the money raised by the show will be used to support early education throughout the Caribbean and Africa.
XXXTentacion was shot and killed in 2018 at the age of 20 years old. Despite ongoing legal issues, he earned a cult following during his short career, and his first posthumously released single, ‘Sad!,’ reached number one in the United States.
