A Florida man is facing 30 years behind bars in federal prison after posing as a flight attendant to book over 120 free flights.
Traveling by plane can be extremely expensive, so a Florida man decided to take things into his own hands by posing as a flight attendant to get onboard without paying a dime. The problem? His actions were highly illegal.
From 2018 and 2024, 35-year-old Tiron Alexander booked free flights available to pilots and flight attendants using a carrier’s website.
According to the US Department of Justice, Alexander flew on 34 flights by posing as an attendant who worked for other airlines and had many more flights booked before being caught.

Evidence presented in court revealed that Alexander had been exploiting a program specifically for airline staff.
While booking through carriers, the process required Alexander to select whether he was a pilot or flight attendant and provide his employer, date of hire and badge number information.
Alexander claimed that he had over 30 different badge numbers and that he worked for several airlines. He was able to successfully pose as a flight attendant on four different airlines and had over 120 flights booked.
On June 5, a federal jury convicted him of wire fraud and entering into a secure area of an airport by false pretenses. US District Judge Jacqueline Becerra is scheduled to sentence the South Florida native on August 25, 2025.
CBS reports that Alexander will face up to 30 years in a federal prison for his crimes.
Despite being a fake flight attendant, the real ones can cause some serious issues, too. In June, a British Airways flight steward was found naked and dancing in the bathroom toilet mid-flight after he went missing during the trip from San Francisco to London.
