Early Life
Seyi Vibez was born into the middle-class family of Mr. and Mrs. Balogun. He was birthed in a public-owned hospital on the 12th of July, 2000. His birth is registered with the name Oluwaloseyi Afolabi Balogun. His first name, Oluwaloseyi, is a Yoruba name translated in English as “It is God who has done this.”
Growing up, Seyi Vibez was referred to as Seyi by his parents, siblings, friends, teachers, and schoolmates. He grew up in Mainland Lagos and resided with his parents in a rented apartment in Ketu for the first ten years. After which, his family moved to Ikorodu, another populated district in Lagos State.

Since Seyi Vibez decided to become a musician, he has been working hard to achieve his dreams. He took an interest in Afro-Pop and has been recording songs in that genre for years. He released his debut single Anybody in 2019. However, it was until 2021 that he gained popularity in the industry. The fame came after he dropped the single God Sent, a track in his debut studio album titled No Seyi No Vibez (NSNV).
2022 was a year of greater success for Seyi Vibez after he dropped his sophomore studio album Billion Dollar Baby and the mixtape Billion Dollar Baby 2.0. Chance, one of the singles off the album, shot him into the international limelight. Chance reached No. 19 on UK Afrobeats single chart and peaked at No. 7 on Turntable Top 100 Chart. Billion Dollar Baby also peaked at No. 1 on Turntable Top 50 Albums Chart.
Seyi Vibez released his 5-track debut EP Memory Card on the 6th of January, 2023. The Extended Play saw a guest feature from American rapper YXNG K.A. In the first week of the project’s release, it amassed over 6.30 million streams. 4 tracks out of the EP dominated the Turntable Top 10 Chart. In February 2023, fellow Nigerian musician Zlatan Ibile collaborated with Seyi Vibez to release the song, Let There Be Light. The single debuted at No. 14 on Apple Music Top 100 Nigeria Chart.
Seyi Vibez is one of the leading StreetPop artists from Africa. He warmed his way into the hearts of many Street-Pop fans with hit singles such as Alaska, Professor Peller, Better Days Freestyle, Dia Fada, Billion Dollar, Big Vibe, Pay Day, Duro, Over Sabi, Catalyst, Superstar, Para Mode, Colour White, Bamishe, Save Me, 12:07, On Your Own, 90’s, and Bad Type amongst others.
