The Game Awards has gradually displaced E3 as the largest gaming event of the year over the past few years. However, a big part of that can be attributed to how many teases and exclusive previews the show has given us during that period of time. Final Fantasy XVI and Starfield were passed over because they weren’t nominated for Game of the Year at the 2023 Game Awards.
