After Ana Clara Benevides, a Brazilian Swiftie, passed away from heatstroke just before Taylor Swift’s concert at Engenhão stadium, the hashtag T4F EXIGIMOS RESPEITO went viral on Twitter.

In an interview with Folha de S. Paulo, Ana Clara’s father revealed that his daughter had been a fan of Taylor Swift since she was a teenager and had been saving money for the singer’s performance for a long time.

“Thinking about it made me cry a lot today. Oh God, I’m both confused and ecstatic. Like I have no idea what my life’s purpose will be after I see Taylor. My trip is a used Celtinha [car]”, he revealed in his last post.

Ana Clara fell ill during the singer’s show this Friday (17). According to T4F, responsible for producing Taylor Swift’s shows in Brazil, the young woman was treated and taken to a hospital, but did not survive.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Ana Clara Benevides Machado, 23 years old. Last night, Ana Clara felt unwell and was promptly attended to by the team of firefighters and paramedics, being taken to the medical station at the Nilton Santos Stadium for first aid protocol,” the company said in a statement.

“In view of the situation, the medical team chose to transfer him to Salgado Filho Hospital, where, after almost an hour of emergency care, he unfortunately died. To the family and friends of Ana Clara Benevides Machado, our sincere condolences.”

The Fire Department reported that the singer’s fans were rescued near the Engenhão stadium and were severely dehydrated due to the heat. Fans were then allowed to continue in line and watch the show.

The Minister of Justice Flávio Dino spoke out, this Saturday morning (18), to inform that he ordered an investigation into the lack of water at Taylor Swift’s concert after episodes of fainting and even one death at the event held yesterday, in Engenhão.
