Miami police want former NFL star Antonio Brown on an attempted murder charge after a shooting at Adin Ross’ boxing event back in May.
On May 16, streaming star Adin Ross hosted another of his Brand Risk boxing events. As usual, the fights were streamed on Kick, and a number of famous faces turned up to get a closer look at the contests.
As the event came to an end, former NFL star wide receiver Antonio Brown could be seen holding a gun and running towards several streamers who had been live at the time. Brown then fired multiple shots, which could be heard off-camera. This caused the crowd to disperse and seek safety.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver was detained by police at the time of the incident but was later released. Brown claimed that he had been “jumped” at the event by people trying to steal his jewellery.
Warrant out for Antonio Brown arrest
As per The Washington Post, Miami-Dade State police now have an attempted murder warrant out for Brown after a judge signed it on Wednesday, June 11.
Authorities had attempted to contact the 36-year-old on June 12, but were unsuccessful in doing so. As per the warrant, which was verified by The Washington Post, Brown will have to post a $10,000 bond and remain under house arrest until a trial.
Additionally, the warrant says that attendees identified Brown as the shooter, but that officers found no weapon on him after a pat-down. They did find two shell casings and an empty gun holster, though.
One man suffered injuries at the event and sought treatment at a Miami hospital before also identifying Brown on security footage. The two men had reportedly struggled over the gun after the former NFL star started a bigger brawl.
Despite his active social media presence, Brown has not responded to the warrant online, and it remains to be seen if he’ll do so.
