This particular MARVEL fighting game is a 4v4 tag fighting game, meaning that you can tag in and out of four different characters during a battle.
Marvel fighting games have historically used tag-team mechanics, as seen in the Marvel vs Capcom series. In Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, players duked it out in teams of three – but now, they can go at it with four different fighters.
Arc System Works has experience with tag-team fighters, as seen in Dragon Ball FighterZ, where players use three characters during fights. It’s clear that they’ve upped the ante for Marvel this go around.
