Another State of Play is wrapped, and as always, there are a lot of game announcements to talk about.
If you couldn’t catch it live, we’ve got you covered with a full rundown of everything announced during the showcase. From long-awaited sequels to surprise reveals, Sony brought a mix of fan favorites, fresh faces, and gameplay deep-dives.

Lumines Arise
From the creators of Tetris Effect, the critically acclaimed, hypnotic puzzle game that turned dropping blocks into an emotional journey, comes something brand new: Lumines Arise.
Revealed for the first time during the State of Play, it’s more than just your “typical puzzle game stuff,” despite what the devs cheekily said.
The showcase gave us a first look at its visuals, rhythm-based gameplay, and that same stylish, immersive vibe we’ve come to expect from Enhance Games. If you loved Tetris Effect, Lumines Arise looks like it’s going to scratch a similar itch while bringing its own fresh energy.
Even better, a playable demo is on the way this summer, so you won’t have to wait long to get your hands on it. The full game is set to drop this fall.

Pragmata
After years of radio silence, Pragmata finally resurfaced during today’s State of Play and yep, it’s as wild and mysterious as ever.
First revealed way back in 2020, Capcom’s sci-fi action-adventure game has been through multiple delays and total reworks. But now we’ve got a fresh trailer, and it’s packed with action.
The blonde girl from the original teaser is officially named Diana, and she’s still paired up with the futuristic, astronaut-like guy. This time she’s riding on his back while they blast through robots, mechs, and drones. There’s shooting, hacking, and some giant mechanical bosses, all set against a futuristic, lunar backdrop.
Capcom now says it’s launching in 2026, so we’ll be waiting a bit longer.

Romeo is a Dead Man
From the mind of SUDA51, the creator of Lollipop Chainsaw, comes Romeo is a Dead Man. This is a fast, ultra-violent sci-fi hack-and-slash revealed during today’s showcase.
It stars a katana and gun-wielding antihero tearing through some of the weirdest, gnarliest zombies you’ve ever seen. The combat looks sharp, stylish, and chaotic, with plenty of blood, speed, and over-the-top flair. Oh, and his jacket talks, just because it can.
The release window? “2026… maybe.”

Silent Hill f
Silent Hill f is the first brand-new mainline entry in the series in over a decade, and it finally showed up with a haunting new trailer.
Set in 1960s Japan, the game follows teenage girls facing unspeakable horrors in a fog-covered mountain town. The showcase gave us a brutal glimpse of the nightmare: paralyzed schoolgirls twisted like scarecrows, grotesque creatures, and tense, crowbar-swinging survival.
It’s a surreal, gore-soaked take on Silent Hill’s signature psychological horror. After years of waiting, we finally have a release date too: September 25, 2025.

Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement was officially revealed during today’s State of Play.
From what we saw in the trailer, it’s sticking with the 2.5D sidescrolling style fans loved in Ritual of the Night, but with a slicker, more cinematic touch.
The medieval setting looks moody and dramatic, with fully voiced characters and some pretty eye-catching cutscenes. While we didn’t get much in terms of story or gameplay deep-dives, the tone feels very on-brand for the series, dark, stylish, and heavy on atmosphere. It’s set to release sometime in 2026.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger
Digimon Story: Time Stranger popped back up during today’s State of Play with a brand-new trailer, and this one gave us a deeper look at the story and characters.
We got glimpses of key human characters, their partner Digimon, and more of the turn-based battles that define the series. The trailer also teased new twists in the story, with players traveling between the Digital World and human world to stop a looming collapse threatening both.
It’s looking like a major step forward for the series, with over 450 Digimon and a revamped growth system. Best of all, we finally have a release date: Time Stranger launches October 3, 2025.

Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles finally made its grand return at today’s State of Play, confirming the long-rumored remake is real and it looks fantastic.
Launching September 30, 2025, for PS5 and PS4, this package includes both an enhanced version with modern visuals, full voice acting, and quality-of-life tweaks, and a classic version that sticks to the original 1997 style with the War of the Lions translation.

Baby Steps
Baby Steps stumbled back into the spotlight during today’s State of Play with a new trailer, and it’s somehow looking even weirder than before.
From the minds behind Getting Over It and Ape Out, this physics-based walking adventure stars Nate, a guy whose only skill is walking… very carefully.
The latest footage showed off misty mountains, strange terrain, and a dynamic soundtrack that reacts to your movement. It’s silly, chill, and weirdly mesmerizing. Baby Steps launches September 8.

Hirogami
Hirogami returned during the showcase with a gorgeous new trailer, and it’s still one of the most visually unique platformers on the horizon.
Set in a hand-folded origami world, you play as Hiro, a folding master out to stop a digital corruption called the Blight.
The trailer showed off fluid movement, creative transformations like a leaping frog and rolling armadillo, and some emotional story beats as Hiro rescues allies and restores balance to his world.

Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots
Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots returns on September 5, 2025, for PS5, Switch, and PC.
Developed by HYDE, it keeps the classic three-button swing and adds a fun Wacky Golf mode with wild obstacles. Play solo, local multiplayer, or online against players worldwide.
The game features bright, cartoonish visuals and a variety of quirky characters and courses.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a 2D action platformer coming July 31, 2025.
Developed by The Game Kitchen (known for Blasphemous) and published by Dotemu with support from Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja, it’s a loving return to Ninja Gaiden’s classic roots with modern twists. You play as two ninjas, Kenji and Kumori, who team up with a unique fusion mechanic to fight a demonic invasion after Ryu Hayabusa leaves the village.

Cairn
Cairn is an upcoming survival climbing adventure from The Game Bakers, launching November 5, 2025.
You play as Aava, a mountaineer aiming to summit the dangerous Mount Kami, controlling each limb manually to climb, place pitons, and manage resources like hunger and stamina, all without a traditional HUD. The trailer shows handcrafted rock faces, no set routes, and multiple climbing styles, which makes every ascent feel unique.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection
Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection will release later in 2025 for PS5 and PS4.
It includes the original Mortal Kombat arcade trilogy (MK 1, MK II, and Ultimate MK3) updated with rollback netcode for smooth online play and some visual and quality-of-life improvements.
The collection preserves the classic gameplay while modernizing performance.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a full remake of the 2004 classic, releasing August 28, 2025.
Developed by Konami with Virtuos Studio, it retells Naked Snake’s Cold War mission with modern graphics, improved environments, and updated gameplay while preserving the original’s stealth-action spirit. N
New features include a third-person camera and the return of the “Snake vs Monkey” minigame. The June 2025 State of Play showcased an action-packed trailer with humor and refined stealth gameplay.

Nioh 3
Nioh 3 just got officially announced at Sony’s State of Play on June 4, 2025, and it’s coming out early next year on PS5. They’re moving away from the usual linear levels to more open fields so you can actually explore a lot more, kinda like those open-world RPGs you’ve been seeing everywhere.
Also, you can switch between Ninja and Samurai fighting styles now. Of course, it’s still super tough, expect those brutal boss fights and crazy Oni enemies.
They even dropped a demo the same day, so you can jump in and check out the new gameplay for yourself on the PlayStation Store.
It’s being made by Team Ninja like always, and since Nioh is known for its intense “Soulslike” action and cool Japanese fantasy vibes, this one looks like it’s gonna keep that going but freshen things up a bit.

Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow
Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow is coming later this year. It’s a full VR reboot of the classic stealth series, putting you right in the dark, creepy streets of “The City.”
You’ll sneak, pick locks, and evade guards using VR’s immersive controls, with a big focus on atmosphere and player choice.
Tides of Tomorrow
Tides of Tomorrow is a first-person narrative adventure coming out February 24, 2026.
You play on a flooded ocean planet, exploring floating islands and meeting different factions while trying to save the world from a deadly plastification. What’s really cool is the game’s asynchronous multiplayer: your story changes based on the choices your friends and other players make, so every playthrough feels unique.
The trailer gives a good look at how your decisions impact the world and story.
Sea of Remnants
Sea of Remnants is this new ocean-themed action RPG from NetEase and Joker Studio.
It’s all about exploring a vibrant sea world filled with puppetfolk (kind of like living marionettes) with you as a ship captain on a journey to uncover your past.
The recent showcase gave us a good look at the unique art style, real-time combat, and how you can recruit a crew, sail through storms, and find treasure. The game’s super focused on exploration and making choices that change your adventure. It’s coming out on 2026.

Sword of Sea
Sword of the Sea is coming out August 19, 2025, from the folks at Giant Squid Studios, the same team behind ABZÛ and The Pathless.
It’s an atmospheric adventure where you surf across wild, ever-changing landscapes on a “Hoversword,” which feels like a mix of a snowboard and a hoverboard.
The game takes place in this mysterious place called the Necropolis, with ruins and strange creatures you can bring back to life. The story’s mostly told through vibes: color, music, and light.

007 First Light
IO Interactive gave us a closer look at their new James Bond game, 007 First Light, which tells an original origin story about how Bond became a 00 agent.
It’s not based on any movie or book, but it’s a fresh, grittier take on young Bond’s early missions. The trailer packs a lot: action scenes, smooth animations, interesting locations, solid voice acting, some careless driving, and fireworks lighting up the screen.
The game is coming in 2026, but there’s a gameplay reveal trailer coming this summer.

Ghost of Yotei
We already knew Ghost of Yotei was coming but the latest showcase gave us a much better look at what to expect.
The trailer kicked things off with a cool scene of our main character gearing up and resting by a campfire, setting a quiet, tense mood before diving into the action. One standout moment was the introduction of a wolf companion who looks like a fierce ally.
Don’t forget, the release date is set for October 2, with a gameplay trailer on the way this July.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
Arc System Works surprised everyone revealing their new Marvel fighting game, coming in 2026 for PS5 and PC.
The game is a fast-paced 4v4 tag team fighter, letting you switch between four Marvel heroes and villains mid-battle. It’s got that signature anime-inspired art style Arc System Works is known for. We saw Spider-Man, Captain America, Star-Lord, and Doctor Doom in the trailer, with plenty more hinted at.
The reveal trailer packed in flashy combos, epic team moves, and high-energy action, getting fans excited for what’s next.
