X Factor winner Matt Terry has come out as gay.
The 30-year-old singer was the winner of the 13th series in 2016 and went on to release a debut album called Trouble after beating Saara Aalto.
“I’m very proud (of my sexuality) and I’m no longer afraid,” Matt said Gay times.
“Now I want to set the record straight with this song and video. I know… People will say, ‘Is this news?
‘I hid who I was, but I didn’t really open up. I’ve never let anyone in before.’

Matt achieved two top 10 singles after The X Factor, but was told by email that he would be dropped by his record company RCA.
He said his manager forwarded the message to him and simply added: “Please,” with the pop star insisting there was no conversation about leaving his record company.
Matt said he tried to mold himself into a person he wasn’t after his bosses told him they wanted him to be like certain other artists.
He said he had to “build myself from the ground up” and said he could no longer look in the mirror after his trust was broken.
The television star admitted that he no longer had any idea of who he was or what his personality was as an autonomous individual.
Matt also claimed that he struggled with his self-esteem after being belittled by his team, feeling the need to change himself in the ways desired by his bosses in an attempt to achieve success.
