The DCI has arrested a suspect in the murder of Willis Ayieko, the Human Resource Manager at Wells Fargo.
The suspect, identified as Victor Ouma, was taken into custody on Monday night in Dandora Phase IV, Nairobi, after being tracked for several days. He is currently being held at Muthaiga Police Station.
According to the DCI, forensic analysis placed Okoth at the crime scene, which is crucial for the ongoing investigation. This case is being handled by a joint team from the Homicide, Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), and Operations units.
Detectives suspect that Okoth rented his residence using money obtained from the crime.
Willis Ayieko Disappearance and Murder
Willis Ayieko was reported missing on October 21 after attending a burial in Siaya. And he was expected to attend another ceremony at Kakamega, but he never turned up.
Later, he was found dead dumped in a stream in Gem, Siaya County, a week later. The body of Willis Ayieko was discovered handcuffed, with evidence of torture raising severe concerns about the circumstances of his death.
CCTV footage showed two men dumping Ayieko’s car, which might be crucial evidence in the investigations.
“Given the nature of the incident and how Ayieko’s body was found, we are treating this as a possible homicide,” Charles Wafula, the Siaya Sub-County Police Commander said.
“We will not rest until we get to the bottom of this.”
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are committed to uncovering all the details surrounding this tragic case.
