Wondering if The Bear Season 3 is coming to Hulu? Was The Bear renewed or canceled? And what a potential Season 3 could look like? Here’s everything we know about the future of the FX on Hulu series.

Was The Bear Renewed For Season 3 on Hulu?

As of The Bear‘s Season 2 premiere day (June 22) the series had yet to be renewed or canceled by FX. A rep for the show told Decider that there are currently no updates on Season 3, but that’s not to say the series won’t return with more delectable storylines, preferably in Summer 2024, since The Bear is now one of TV’s greatest seasonal traditions.

During the Television Critics Association’s 2022 summer tour, Decider asked FX Chairman John Landgraf if he could provide solid viewership numbers for the critically acclaimed Season 1, and though he was unable to share specific data he did stress the show’s immense popularity.

“I’m also frustrated, as no doubt you and many of your colleagues here today are, that so much of the data around usage has essentially become private data,” Landgraf said. “I can tell you that it’s a really large number of people and likely makes The Bear the most watched half-hour show we’ve ever had, and as I said, one of the most watched that Hulu’s had.”

“I’m hoping we will begin to be able to provide more details later because, as you know, FX’s point of view is to be as transparent and as direct and as open as we possibly can,” he continued. “It’s been very frustrating to me that the industry went a different direction, and I’m looking forward to seeing it come back.”

Based on Season 1’s success and Landgraf’s claims, we can assume Season 2 will be a must-watch for fans and an easy renewal decision for FX. Since Season 2 ends on several cliffhangers, we know there are many more stories to tell in a potential Season 3 as well. Here’s what new episodes of The Bear could look like.

The season ended with The Bear’s friends and family test-drive dinner, so first and foremost, Season 3 would presumably focus on the restaurant finally opening to the public, the team navigating their new dynamic, and of course, trying to snag a Michelin star for Syd. We’d likely see Nat giving birth, and possibly a reunion with her, Carmy, and their mom (Jamie Lee Curtis). And Carmy also has relationships to mend with Richie and Claire, who he exiled from his life from behind a freezer door in the finale. Marcus and Syd will likely revisit a possible romantic relationship (because Marcus definitely tried to ask Syd out on a real date), but there’s also a possibility that Marcus’ mom’s health took a turn for the worst based on several missed calls and texts from her nurse in the final minutes of the episode.

Knowing The Bear, Season 3 will feature more chaos and tension someway, somehow. Plus, more self-improvement attempts and vulnerability from the staff. And here’s hoping we also finally, at long last, see the refrigerator door get fixed. Until then, the first two seasons of The Bear are currently streaming on Hulu for all your rewatch needs.
