Kenyan rapper Nyamari Ongegu, known as Nyashinski, recently apologized for not performing at the underwhelming Walker Town Festival over the weekend.
He shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram story, explaining that although he was at the event and ready to take the stage, unexpected circumstances beyond his control stopped him from performing.
In his statement, Nyashinski, who had a falling out with Producer Cedo, expressed his gratitude to his fans for spending their hard-earned money and braving the tough weather to come see him.
He said, “I truly appreciate you for paying your hard earned money & braving the harsh weather to come and see me perform.”
He recognized how disappointing it was for his supporters and emphasized that he was just as eager to entertain them.
Nyashinski mentioned that he and his team were on-site, prepared to perform, but unforeseen issues arose that prevented them from going on stage. He acknowledged the inconvenience this caused, stating, “We acknowledge the disappointment and inconveniences caused.”
Despite his absence, the festival still had other local and international acts performing, but many fans felt the gap left by Nyashinski. The festival organizers reassured attendees that they are working to avoid similar issues in the future. They also announced that all ticket holders for Day Two of the Walker Town 2024 Festival would receive a 100% refund.
