Strictly Come Dancing is back to grace our TV screens once more, with the show starting on Saturday September 16 2023 as celebrities attempt to shimmy their way into winning the iconic Glitterball trophy.
The 2023 BBC One series will feature an immaculate star-studded line up, as well as unexpected changes with professional dancers – with one notable dancer choosing to exit the show, while another is forced to pull out from competing.
But who exactly is professional dancer Michelle Tsiakkas? When did she join the show?

Who is Michelle Tsiakkas?
Latin dance champion Michelle Tsiakkas first started dancing at the age of six in her home country of Cyprus.
There, she became an undefeated champion, winning national titles from 2001-2011 before moving to London to study.
Whilst in the UK she continued to compete, representing England at major international championships before joining the world touring dance show Burn The Floor.
Tsiakkas originally joined Strictly Come Dancing back in 2022, as one of four new professional dancers.
In the 2022 Week 4 Results show, Michelle and Kai performed a stunning dance to George Ezra’s ‘Dance Over Me’.
For the 2023 edition of the show, Michelle will be without a celebrity partner, as she will instead be performing numbers as part of the dedicated professionals’ group.
Is Michelle Tsiakkas married?
Michelle is unmarried and does not have any children. However, she is in a relationship with fellow professional dancer Simone Arena.
Arena also works as a choreographer and has appeared alongside Michelle in Burn The Floor.
In early 2022 Simone won the Belgian version of Dancing With The Stars along with gymnast Nina Derwael.
