Bargain Hunt has been a cornerstone of British daytime television since it aired twenty years ago in March 2000.

Since then, teams wearing blue and red fleeces have competed at various antique shows to see who can rake in the biggest profits.

More recently, presenter Christina Trevanion was stunned to come across a tribal mask that could be worth up to £2 million at auction.

But who is currently hosting the show, as many hosts have come and gone over the years?

Who are the presenters of Bargain Hunt?

Roo Irvine

Arusha “Roo” Irvine signed up as a Bargain Hunt expert five years ago, in 2019.

However, it wouldn’t be until three years later that she would make her Bargain Hunt presenting debut.

On June 13, 2022, the Scottish presenter presented the show for the first time ever at an antiques fair in Southwell Nottinghamshire.

But her TV appearances don’t start and end with Bargain Hunt, as the presenter has also appeared in Antiques Road Trip, Flipping Profit, Pointless – and even Mastermind.

The Argyll and Bute antiques expert opened her own shop in 2013 following the tragic and sudden death of her father.

Speaking about her experience hosting the show, she told the BBC: ‘I’m loving every second of it!

‘It’s a fantastic presenting team where everyone brings their own personality and style, so it’s a real honor to perform in such a line-up!

‘I feel like a conductor in an orchestra made up of experts, participants and crew, and the pleasure lies in bringing them all together in harmony to make our own Bargain Hunt music!’

Natasha Raskin Sharp

Natasha Raskin Sharp, the show’s youngest presenter, was born in Glasgow and is 37 years old.

The presenter, who hails from Scotland, grew up in a family of creatives, with her own father Philip Raskin building quite a reputation as an artist.

Natasha studied art history at Glasgow University and later worked at McTear’s auction house.

Not only has she appeared on Bargain Hunt, the antiques professional also starred in Flog It and was even part of Barack Obama’s Scottish contingent team during the 2008 primaries.

According to Natasha, her favorite part of the show is sightseeing and meeting the contestants.

She added that it is the “amazing” and “bubbly” contestants that make the show entertaining.

Eric Knowles

Antiques expert Eric Knowles is from Nelson in Lancashire, England and was born on February 18, 1953.

He was previously head of the ceramics department of auction house Bonhams in 1981.

His list of TV appearances is quite long, having made cameos on Going for a Song, Going, Going, Gone, Noel’s House Party, 20th Century Roadshow and Call My Bluff.

As well as presenting Bargain Hunt, he also presented the TV show Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.

In July 2021 he launched his own decorative arts emporium in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Like Natasha, the contestants and guest experts are his favorite part of the role, joking that they are often old friends with “boundless knowledge.”

Caroline Hawley

Caroline is one of the most experienced antiques professionals to present the long-running daytime TV show.

Although she left school as a teenager, she eventually secured a place at the University of Hull and even a degree in French.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Caroline opened the doors of her own antique store in 1983 called Penny Farthing Antiques.

Like other Bargain Hunt presenters, she has also appeared in Flog It and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.

She discusses the origins of her love for antiques The Yorkshire in 2019, Caroline explained that as a child she often went to the dump to find treasures and broken bottles.

‘For me it was fascinating because everything told a story.

‘I still love that aspect of the profession: when I come across something during a house clearance or an appraisal day, for example, I always look beyond its potential value.

“I think to myself, ‘Whose is this, who loved it, what does it tell me?’ What’s the history here?’

Charlie Ross

A great antiques dealer, Charlie Ross boasts a staggering 50-year career in the industry since becoming an auctioneer in 1963.

He started out auctioning chickens and turkeys before eventually discovering a love for antique furniture.

He then set up his own auction house in Woburn, a stone’s throw from Milton Keynes.

However, in February 2008, the presenter has now taken a step back when it comes to running the auction house.

According to The sunthe antique expert is also an auctioneer at both the Arizona Scottsdale car auction and even the famous California auction house Pebble Beach Vintage Car Auction.

Like his fellow co-hosts, he has also imparted his expert knowledge on Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, Flog It and Antiques Road Trip.

Christina Trevanion

Christina Trevanion, who previously studied in Cheshire, is both a television presenter and auctioneer.

The Bargain Hunt presenter has been in the antiques business for just over a decade and owns her own Whitchurch-based auction company Trevanion & Dean in Shropshire.

She also previously did a stint at the British auction house Christie’s.

Not only has Christina appeared on Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Show and Flog It, she’s also taken the plunge to host a new show: The Traveling Auctioneers with Will Kirk and JJ Chalmers.

Danny Sebastian

Although antiques professional Danny Sebastian has had a promising antiques career, he has not been so lucky with his health.  He announced that he had health problems in 2019.

Antiques expert Danny Sebastian first made his Bargain Hunt debut as an expert in 2017 and later became a regular host in 2022.

Danny has appeared in a range of shows including Antiques Adventure, Celebrity Mastermind, Flipping Profit, Celebrity Egghead and Cbeebies’ Junk Rescue.

Despite his flourishing antiques career, Danny hasn’t been so lucky when it comes to his health.

In 2019, he got scared and revealed he had clogged arteries, but it was not confirmed he had suffered a heart attack.

After the scare, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to write: ‘I thought I was #fit, I looked like it, I felt it, I believed it, but inside I wasn’t. Our arteries can become clogged and cause problems and even death.

‘We must #eat #healthy #exercise #sleep a lot & #stress little & NEVER #smoke.

‘I’m #lucky, but not all of us are. Take care of yourself.’
