Uhuru Kenyatta’s niece Nana Gecaga is celebrating 23 years of sobriety. Nana, who is the KICC chief executive hit 23 years since she stopped taking alcohol. Gecaga has always recalled how alcoholism ruined her life, hence the reason why she decided to quit. Celebrating the journey, Nana stated that she is currently proud of the woman she has become since she begun a journey of soberness.
She stated, “It’s the 4th of July and everyone in America is celebrating independence day. But for me, it’s an extremely important day for me. I am 23 years sober today. I don’t take it for granted. I know there are so many people out there struggling with alcoholism and I want to say, keep on going. The race is within yourself.”
Nana agreed that fighting addiction is not as easy as people perceive it, but added that it is a key step that one should take to lead a healthy and sober lifestyle. Nana admitted that she takes every single day as blessing. She urged her fans to celebrate with her for the initiative she took to bring herself back from the chains of addiction. Nana urged adddicts to always reach out for help, arguing that people suffering from the addiction monster should never shy from seeking help.
The beauty diva explained how she transitioned from leading a reckless lifestyle to being a mother of adorable young boys. She stated, “The day I asked for help is the day my life changed. 23 years later I could not even imagine that I could even be a mother of amazing young boys and which is most important.
