“Our thanks go to the creative team who captured these exciting moments and everyone who achieved what only a short time ago seemed impossible.”

Deadpool actor Ryan, 47, and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Rob, 46, teamed up to buy the football team in 2021 after the Welsh club went bankrupt.

Wrexham is the third oldest professional football club in the world, but has not been in the Football League for more than 15 years.

Ryan and Rob recognized the potential for a true underdog story and their investment and marketing helped promote this both literally and figuratively.

Speak with Varietythe pair said they didn’t know what to expect when visiting the Welsh town, but decided they would focus the series on Wrexham and its people.

Ryan said, “If you just read the headlines, you’re probably thinking, ‘Oh, this show is going to be funny.’

“It’s going to be a fish-out-of-water story about two dirty showbiz idiots who go in, fall on their asses and learn along the way.” But the show literally doesn’t center us. It centers the city.’

The second series is currently airing, with the conclusion airing exclusively on Disney+ on November 15.

In the final episode, Wrexham played Yeovil and won 3–0, leaving them just one win away from promotion.
