Welcome to Plathville’s Ethan Plath and his estranged wife Olivia have officially filed for divorce.
Four months after announcing their divorce on Instagram, the exes, both 25, filed “joint paperwork to legally end their five-year marriage” on Feb. 21 in Carver County, Minnesota, according to People.
The former couple’s relationship reportedly ended after an “irreparable breakdown.”
Their divorce date is listed as February 25, 2023, eight months before they shared the news with their social media followers.

In October, Ethan shared a statement explaining to their fans that he and Olivia had “parted ways.”
“It just didn’t work between us, even though we both gave it everything we had,” he wrote. “It seemed that in life we were constantly pulling each other in opposite directions with different goals.”
The reality star concluded, “I wish Olivia the best in the future. I care about her very much and always will.”
Olivia also reflected on their time together at the time in a post shared with her more than 456,000 Instagram followers.
‘I have ambivalent memories of us as 18 years old, innocently dreaming of forever – but the partner you choose is a reflection of the world you want to live in, and at 18 I didn’t know who I was or what kind of life I had. I wanted to create for myself,” she wrote.
Seven years later, Olviia said she has embarked on a “journey of questioning, deconstructing and rebuilding.”
She ended her post by saying, “Thanks for the good times, Ethan. I wish you the best.’
In December, she revealed during a Q&A on her Instagram Story that her work as a wedding photographer showed her what she “could have” and “deserved.”

As for what she’s looking for in her next relationship, the star said she wants a partner who is curious and compassionate.
‘Also someone who knows that I will change as I learn, grow and discover. Idk, that could be fun,” she joked.
The reality star also seemed to throw shade at her ex-husband, adding that she wouldn’t mind if someone split “the cooking responsibilities.”
The comment seemed to nod to him, suggesting in the Welcome to Plathville finale that if she “cooked him three meals a day,” their marriage would be stronger.
Their show documented some of their relationship issues, including disagreements over child rearing, politics, religion and more.

He told Olivia, “I feel like I have to draw a line in the sand and say this is the absolute limit where my personal beliefs are going to let me go where you are and bring kids into the mix with that because they just not compatible.”
