“Hi Eric. Kindly help me out with 80/- I buy a paket of pads for my daughter. It is her first time and it has caught me of guard, I gave her the spare I usually put in my bag. Please,” the w***n’s message reads.

Eric Omondi’s call for new Kenya

The comedian stated that it is a high time Kenyans started thinking of a new country where basic and natural requirements such as sanitary pads should be free, and not taxed.

He says that he had sent the w***n some money, but with a heavy heart, and wondered how the country’s priorities are upside down.

“This is the Kenya we live in. I have sent this w***n money but with a very heavy heart. This perfectly describes the s******f our nation. We must begin to dream of a new Kenya. A Kenya where basic natural requirements like sanitary pads are essentially free, not taxed. Our priorities are upside down,” Omondi stated.

He has since launched a campaign to reconstruct a perilous bridge over River Waseges in Baringo County. This is after a video of the dangerous bridge made of three logs of wood went viral.

The activist first highlighted the dangerous condition of the bridge by posting several photos showing women crawling across it to reach the other side.

He requested specific information about the bridge’s location.

In February 2024, Omondi helped build a dangerous bridge in a village in Kisii County that gained attention after a video surfaced showing a small girl, Shirleen Kemunto bravely crossing over it.

Taking to Instagram to share the exciting news with his fans, the comedian posted a video showcasing himself and the young girl walking over the newly upgraded bridge.
