Karen Nyamu has addressed concerns that her baby daddy Samidoh physically assaulted her once again.
The UDA-nominated senator raised eyebrows when she was seen with what appeared to be a black eye during a Scout and Girl Guide function in Nyeri that was presided over by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi on Friday, June 23, 2023.
Netizens raised concerns claiming that Samidoh had assaulted Karen Nyamu again after she was seen with the purported bruised skin on her face.
The mother of three said she was not bothered by the talks on social media while addressing those who were trolling her for allegedly being beaten by Samidoh.
“You know I am not one to care what guys are saying about me, my personal life or whatever. Whatever you want to say about me unakuanga free, sicatch. I don’t really have any issue. In fact saa zile hamniongelelei nakuanga a bit concerned,” Nyamu said.
The nominated senator, nevertheless, was rattled by the fact that people were making jokes about gender-based violence.
“Watu wanamake fun of gender-based violence, especially watu hawanilike they think that gender-based violence is something you can use to settle scores or something you can wish on your enemy – and these are women,” Karen Nyamu lamented.
The mother of three added that she is not the kind of person who keeps quiet when she is battered.
“I am not one to keep quiet about such a thing, unajua mi sijui kuficha white. One truthful person after Riggy G in this country is Karen Nyamu. So hio si kitu naweza nyamazia,” she said.
Nyamu additionally said that she confronted Samidoh about claims on social media that he beat her black and blue, revealing that her baby daddy told her just to ignore the allegations.
“I have raised it with the person who people think has hit me ameniambia ‘ahh wewe lenga’ you know, how we dismiss every other thing that they say about us,” she said.
“If it is true ni ukweli nilikua nimegongwa ngumi, kama ni ukweli nilikua na black eye yani hivo ndo ingekua tu story ya gossip?” She added.
Karen Nyamu stressed that the main reason why she decided to address claims that she was beaten was to raise awareness about gender-based violence.
“My main reason for coming live tonight is to raise awareness to people who think that dem kuchapwa ana chali kuchapwa ni kitu ya kawaida. It is not. Na si kitu ya kusettle scores nayo,” she said,
Nyamu further reiterated that she had not been physically assaulted, adding that if it happens she would come out to speak about it.
“Sijapigwa ngumi na nikipigwa nitakuwa hapa hapa kulia, kuleta shida and whatever coz mi siwezi ficha white. Kitu kama hio siwezi kanyagia,” she said.
Samidoh beats Nyamu
In August 2021, a pregnant Karen Nyamu came out accusing Samidoh of beating her silly.
“You guys and I am just three months pregnant, imagine. Yani sisi madem tunakuanga washenzi sana,” Karen Nyamu bitterly complained.
“Who did this, Samidoh,” Nyamu added when asked who beat her.
Nyamu said Samidoh physically assaulted her after he accused her of cheating on him.
Samidoh confronted Nyamu about a guy she was seen with in Mombasa but she said it was ‘just a business meeting’.
“Someone told him that I was seen in Mombasa with a man as if my colleagues are all female,” Karen Nyamu said.
Samidoh went to her house to give her a thorough beating after she returned to Nairobi from her alleged ‘sexpade’ in Mombasa.
The Mugithi singer-cum-policeman broke her expensive iPhone and Nyamu vowed to report him to the police, but she didn’t.
“So guys I have to make a report and we must make this a lesson to all men who think they can beat women and get away with it,” Karen Nyamu said.
“Look at my phone! Amechapisha phone yangu kwa bathroom kama simu iko na makosa,” she added.
Karen Nyamu appeared on social media with a bruised face as she narrated how Samidoh beat her like she was a thief caught stealing chicken during Christmas festivities.
