Water meter mayhem: Thieves leave Phuket homeowner all wet

Thieves last night stole a water meter from a house in Ratsada, Phuket, causing significant flooding, leaving the homeowner distraught and the property damaged.

Phuket City Police received a call at 11.26pm, yesterday, June 26, about the incident near Paknam Seafood on Ratsadanusorn Road in Moo 3, Ratsada. Upon arrival, officers found the property owner dealing with extensive water damage after the water meter had been cut off and stolen, causing water to gush throughout the home.

The police promptly documented the scene and launched an investigation to find those responsible for the theft. This incident has raised concerns among residents, who fear the possibility of more thefts and similar property damage in the future.

Police urge residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to aid in the apprehension of the culprits and prevent future incidents, reported Phuket News.

In related news, Pattaya police successfully apprehended a seasoned thief involved in stealing from a dental clinic and confiscated stolen goods worth over 100,000 baht. During questioning, the thief’s partner arrived, wearing jewellery from another theft case, resulting in her arrest.

Police officers and an investigative team from Pattaya City Police Station yesterday, June 26, apprehended a 35 year old woman under an arrest warrant issued by Pattaya Provincial Court on June 7 for theft in a residential area.

In other news, a 27 year old shop owner in Nakhon Ratchasima tragically lost his life after being stabbed seven times while trying to catch a thief. The shop owner’s girlfriend saw the suspect, who had frequently visited the shop, and provided crucial information to the police.

Police received a report at around 4am on Tuesday, June 25, of a fatal stabbing at a general store in Nong Suea Bong village, Nakhon Ratchasima.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the body of Thotsaphon lying near the back door of the shop with multiple stab wounds across his right side, from his chest to his thigh. Blood was splattered throughout the store.
