Adele sensationally stopped her Las Vegas concert on Saturday after she spotted a security guard accosting one of her fans – winning her social media acclaim.

But now a new TikTok video from the fan has showed the moments leading up to the incident, showing them standing up and singing along to the star’s hits while blocking the view of the rows behind him.

The video, shot by TikTok user @juanp_lastra, shows him standing up and animatedly singing along while Adele, 35, belts out I Drink Wine –  while holding a selfie stick to record his own performance alongside Adele’s.

The fan is then approached by another guest sat in the rows behind who politely tells him he is blocking the view – after which he sits down and continues singing.

Adele then instructs her fans to ‘stand up’ as she begins hit Water Under The Bridge – with the fan screaming as he gets to his feet.

Security then approaches the fan, with the fan saying: ‘I’ll calm down’ as security apparently instructs him to stop standing up and singing so loudly.

Security says: ‘You can sing but that being clear…’ as Adele stops singing and addresses security and the fan.

In footage of the incident, Adele could be heard saying to the unidentified security security guard, ‘What is going on there with that young fan who’s been bothered so much since I came on for standing up? What’s going on with him? Yes, you, with your hand up, yes you!’

The 16-time Grammy winner continued to shout at the security guard to ‘leave the fan alone.’

‘Why are you all bothering him? Can you leave [the fan] alone, please? They won’t bother you anymore, darling. You enjoy the show. Leave him alone,’ Adele said.

This won her loud cheers from the crowd, with security telling the fan: ‘You can stand up, you don’t have to sit down’ and walking off.

The fan is seen screaming at Adele’s acknowledgement on the night. 

Hitting back at ‘haters’ the fan captioned the clip: ‘Adele thank you so much for this breathtaking night and for standing up for me, so that I could live your concert as it should be. I’m also sorry that I didn’t respond back to anything you asked me. you started talking to me and I literally stopped breathing.

‘I had been planning to come to this concert for over a year and I finally had the opportunity to come see most beautiful glorious woman this earth has gotten. I still can not wrap my head around the fact that I was in the same room as ADELE, sang every song with her, and she even stopped the show to defend me. 

‘I did not expected everyone in my section to be mad at me for having the time of my life and wanting to stand up and sing with her but I honestly did not care at all about what anyone was saying to me I just was in awe with the master piece I was watching with my own eyes. I did not have time for them haters.’

After the incident Adele resumed the show and the band started playing Water Under the Bridge again. Due to the incident, the Oscar-winning singer had to start the song from the very top.

Various video clips of Adele’s actions quickly went viral on social media, with many of her fans taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their reactions.

The majority of Adele’s fans hailed her as a ‘Queen’ while others proceeded to call her ‘Mother.’

Meanwhile, in a quote Tweet, Twitter user @daydreamerdutch wrote: ‘Adele helping out a fan by saying what needs to be said.’ She also included a picture of a sign at the concert venue, which encouraged fans to stand up during show. 

Several other fans used the opportunity to crack jokes at the security guard that Adele called out. Twitter user @ladidaix wrote, ‘The guard musta been embarrassed af 💀.’ 

‘If I had to interrupt Water Under the Bridge for some nonsense I’d be pissed too,’ Twitter user @Nnemdilim joked.

Adele’s August 26 show in Las Vegas is part of her ongoing ‘Weekends with Adele’ residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. 

Weekends with Adele is the singer’s first-ever Las Vegas Concert Residency and is comprised of a five-month series of Friday and Saturday night shows. Adele’s residency began on November 18, 2022 and is scheduled to end on November 4, 2023.
