By defeating Covington in beautiful fashion, Edwards got revenge on his opponent after the fighter mocked Edwards’ late father prior to the fight.

“This man used my father’s death as entertainment,” Edwards said as he choked back tears after his win.

“It took me a lot to calm down and stay focused to win this fight.”

“He’s a good competitor. But he’s a dirty person.’

Edwards was back home over the holidays but will return to training ahead of his title defense, which he has now revealed will take place in Las Vegas in April.

It remains to be seen who he will face when he enters the octagon in 2024.
