Trump says White House staff had to convince Biden not to release pre-recorded message on Israel and claims Iran would never have attacked if he was president: ‘This is no time for a taped speech’

Donald Trump has claimed that White House officials had to convince President Biden not to release a pre-recorded message following attacks on Israel by Iran.

The former president added that if he were commander in chief “this would never have happened” in a series of posts on his Truth Social platform.

Trump said: “Biden’s handlers convinced him not to release his recorded speech on Israel. He’ll try to do it live now.’

Another message read: “Biden, on Israel, did not deliver his ‘Address to the People’ LIVE. He recorded it. This is no time for recorded speeches!!!’

Shortly after news of the Iranian drone strikes broke, unconfirmed reports circulated that Biden would address the nation live from the Oval Office.

The former president has claimed that White House officials had to convince Biden not to go ahead with a pre-recorded message after the attacks.

Before his posts about President Biden, Trump had posted: “Israel is under attack!

‘This should never have happened. This would never have happened if I were president!’

On Friday, Trump labeled the president “pretty pathetic” and reiterated his position that Iran would not attack Israel if he remained in office.

He referred to comments by the president that an Iranian attack on Israel was imminent.

Trump added, “that the president of our country is actually warning that he thinks we’re going to be attacked or they’re going to be attacked.

‘That’s pretty sad. This is a very dangerous time in our country and a big reason it is dangerous is that we have a president who is completely incompetent.”

Shortly after news broke of the attacks on Israel by Iranian forces, President Biden was rushed back to the White House from Delaware.

In a message to X, he said: “Just met with my national security team for an update on the Iranian attacks on Israel.

“Our commitment to Israel’s security against threats from Iran and its allies is rock-solid.”

Iran launched the drones Saturday afternoon Eastern Standard Time and began invading Israeli airspace.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps said on state media that it had attacked targets in Israel with “dozens of drones and missiles.”

Video shared with DailyMail.com shows the missiles being intercepted by the Iron Dome system over Jerusalem in the east of the country.

US Congressional sources say the amphibious warship Bataan is leading a US naval task force in the eastern Mediterranean.

The Bataan has two support ships and together they carry approximately 2,500 Marines.

The US also has several guided missile destroyers, including the Carney, in the area. A US security source told CNN the bombardment could last hours.

Iran had threatened to hit back at Israel following an attack in Syria, which Tehran said was an Israeli airstrike on an Iranian diplomatic building in Damascus.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has vowed retaliation in the aftermath of the Damascus attack, for which Tel-Aviv has yet to take responsibility.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to respond with force to any attack from Iran, raising tensions in the Middle East.
