“I wanted to announce that my son Tydus is going to be a big brother… to a little girl,” Young said on his “From the Point” podcast.

“Ain’t nothing like being a dad, bro.”

The Young family introduced their firstborn child, a son named Tydus Reign Young, on June 2, 2022, just six months after Young announced he was getting engaged to Miller, his longtime girlfriend.

The point guard is also excited to teach his son how to be a big brother, as Young is an older brother himself to his younger sisters, Caitlyn and Camryn.

“Now that I’m having a daughter, it’s going to be crazy,” the 24-year-old said. “I remember my little sister, so now I’m going about to teach Tydus how to be a big brother, a protector.

“So it’s going to be a cool process.”

With the expected arrival of a baby girl, Young will become one of the many NBA players who are fathers to girls.

Popularized by NBA legend Kobe Bryant, players now take pride in being a girl dad more than ever.

One player who loves his role as a father to his girls is Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins, who said that being a girl dad was “the best.”

“Being a girl dad is the best,” Wiggins said in an interview E! News. “There’s nothing like it. I’ve got two little princesses that I love unconditionally. Every day is just the best. You can go to work or somewhere and not have the best day and come home and my daughters are just there waiting for me.

“They’re always happy, always in a good mood.”

Young is coming off his fifth season in the NBA with averages of 26.2 points per game and a career-high 10.2 assists.
