Tom Brady has lofty expectations for ‘invigorated’ Aaron Rodgers and the Jets

There’s plenty of excitement in the Big Apple around the Jets this season, and even from one of the organization’s biggest antagonists.

Former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady said during Monday’s “Let’s Go” podcast that he expected Aaron Rodgers to “have a great year.”

The seven-time Super Bowl winner also forecasted that the Jets were going to have a “really good team.”

The Jets have gone through a massive overhaul during the offseason with the addition of Rodgers, along with Dalvin Cook, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb.

“I’m excited for him,” Brady said during the show. “He’ll be invigorated. Looks like he’s having a good time up to this year. I know he has been engaged in the offseason, which is always great, and really trying to connect with his teammates.”

Brady went through a similar transition in the latter stages of his career, signing with the Buccaneers in 2020 after spending 20 years with the Patriots.

The Jets can only hope this move works out as well, as Brady led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl in his first season.

There’s no question that Rodgers has been putting in the time with his new teammates.

“They have a really good team,” Brady continued on the podcast. “They have a really good offense. And, you know, Aaron’s been, when he’s got good receivers, man, it’s pretty dangerous. I think he is gonna have a great year.”

Rodgers’ impact on the team has led to him being voted by the team as one of the three players who will be captains this season.
