Tom Brady dishes out quarterback advice, Micah Parsons jab at Raiders preseason game

Tom Brady’s appearance at the Raiders’ preseason finale against the Cowboys on Saturday featured advice for Jimmy Garoppolo and the rest of the Las Vegas quarterbacks, as well as an interaction with Dallas linebacker Micah Parsons where Brady joked he doesn’t “owe you s–t.”

This year marks the first preseason where Brady is not affiliated with an NFL team since 1999, but Brady, now a minority owner of the Raiders, still attracted plenty of attention with his attendance.

In a video clip captured as the Raiders quarterbacks exited their locker room, Brady, wearing a black button-down shirt and pants, told them to “go ruin their night.”

In another interaction, this time recorded on the field at AT&T Stadium, Brady joked with Parsons when the linebacker ran over to the 45-year-old.

“He owes me,” Parsons told the group of people surrounding Brady. “He owes me.”

“I don’t owe you anything,” Brady responded. “You hit me too much. I don’t owe you s–t.”

Brady, who retired from the NFL — for a second time — in February after 23 seasons, ventured into the ownership side of the sport and became a minority owner with the Raiders, which he told the Associated Press was a “dream come true for me.”

“I’ll be playing a very passive role,” Brady told the AP. “This is something that I’m interested in doing for the rest of my life. This is not something that I’m into it for a year or two years. You know, I’ve got a lot of responsibility with my Fox job, which I take very seriously. But if I’m looking over the course of my life, to have the opportunity to be involved in the NFL is a dream come true.

“And if I could help the NFL and continue to contribute in a positive way, then you know, that’s been a very enjoyable part of my life.”

Brady also became a minority owner for the Las Vegas Aces in March, but his Raiders decision also included some reunions, including with Garoppolo — his teammate with the Patriots — and head coach Josh McDaniels, their former offensive coordinator under Bill Belichick in New England.

Garoppolo signed a three-year, $72.5 million deal with the Raiders in free agency after six seasons with the 49ers, though his status became unclear due to foot complications — and a foot procedure following his deal in March — that didn’t become resolved until he passed a physical in training camp.

The Raiders lost to the Cowboys, 31-16, and though Garoppolo didn’t play, Aidan O’Connell went 17 for 26 and Chase Garbers went 5 for 6.

While Brady’s advice to the Raiders’ quarterbacks didn’t work, his interaction with Parsons was fitting, since his last NFL game — a postseason loss to the Cowboys — came against Dallas, where Parsons recorded a sack and two quarterback hits.

Parsons also recorded two sacks and two quarterback hits during the Buccaneers-Cowboys game in Week 1 of the 2022 campaign, which Tampa Bay won, 13-9.

The Raiders open their season against the Broncos, head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Russell Wilson on Sept. 10.

Brady’s preseason appearance also occurred amid relationship buzz with Russian model Irina Shayk, with the pair meeting up in Los Angeles and London — with Shayk excited about having the opportunity to date her “dream guy,” according to People.
