The explosive device was located in the backseat of the vehicle in Midtown Manhattan on Saturday.
An Uber driver turned to look in the backseat after dropping off a passenger at 42nd Street and 7th Avenue in Times Square and saw the explosive.
The driver alerted police just after 4 p.m. and the NYPD sent the Emergency Services Unit and Bomb Squad to the scene.
Anti-Israel protesters marched through the streets and blocked traffic during the emergency.
