Tim Alberta: from political journalism to best-selling author

Renowned for his contributions to The Atlantic magazine as a staff writer, Tim Alberta has cultivated an impressive career in journalism. He’s also a best-selling author and recognised for his objective and incisive political reporting. His work has graced the Wall Street Journal, National Journal, National Review and The Hotline. Furthermore, he previously held a significant role as the chief political correspondent for Politico Magazine.

In the literary realm, he penned the New York Times bestseller, American Carnage: On the Front Lines of the Republican Civil War and the Rise of President Trump. Notwithstanding his accomplishments, his information has not been documented on Wikipedia. This article sheds light on Tim Alberta and his late father, Rev Richard Alberta.

Rev Richard Alberta, the father of Tim Alberta, was born on August 6, 1947, in Passaic, New Jersey, the fourth out of five children. His parents were Frank Alberta, a restauranteur and immigrant from Sicily, and Betty Tillack. His early life included a romance with Donna Pastor, a cheerleader, during his football-playing days at Mahwah High School.

After a stint in the US Marine Corps that ended due to tuberculosis-related complications, Richard pursued higher education at Rutgers University, specialising in political science, finance, and pre-law. Following graduation, he embarked on a career in finance and married his high school love, Donna, who was working for ABC Radio in New York.

During a challenging period in his life, Richard, a staunch atheist raised in a nonreligious household, found solace in the church. His niece Lynn had invited him to attend a service, marking a significant turning point in his life.

Sadly, Richard Alberta passed away recently, leaving behind his wife Donna, his siblings Betty Lynn, Frank, Ted, and Jack; and his four sons, Christopher, Jonathan (Kristi), Brian (Stephanie), and Tim (Sweta). His grandchildren also mourn his departure.
