Nameberry, which is the ‘world’s largest baby name site’, is home to a database of more than 70,000 names.

To create the 2050 prediction list, the US-based site examined thousands of baby names to identify which were given to fewer than 25 babies in 2020.

said Pamela, 70 today: ‘A guiding principle is that the next generation will choose the names of the babies that the parents did not make.’

And so, from that shortlist, the brand then chose names that gave a futuristic look to both classically themed and popular names.

The result was two compelling lists of boy and girl name predictions.

They revealed that the top five boy names for 2050 will be Albie, Barney, Clement, Cyprian and Elim.

For the girls it seems destined that Cosima, Dot, Islanda, Maude and Mavi will come out on top.
