The Crown’s Elizabeth Debicki calls portraying Princess Diana a ‘unique challenge’ in the final days of her life ahead of premiere of new season

Elizabeth Debicki said she stuck around to show creator Peter Morgan’s “emotional blueprint” for Princess Diana’s portrayal in “The Crown.”

In the comments he posted The mirrorThe 33-year-old actress spoke candidly about the challenges of playing the much-loved royal.

“I think it’s a unique challenge as an actor to portray those last days,” the Australian star said, referring to Princess Diana in 1997.

Debicki went on to say that Peter’s interpretation made “emotional sense” for her, using it to guide her acting style.

“That’s his interpretation and it made emotional sense to me, so I stuck with it.” Because obviously it’s devastating, it’s crowded and we can never know,” she added.

The new season of the Netflix hit premieres next month and continues to explore Diana’s final days and her relationship with Dodi Al Fayed.

Diana and Dodi would be seen on his superyacht in St Tropez in July 1997, just months before her tragic death in the Alma Tunnel in Paris.

The new season, released in two parts on November 16 and December 14, will also explore the election of Tony Blair and the marriage of Charles and Camilla.

Kate and William’s early dating days will also be the subject of the hit show, which has gained a loyal audience around the world.

In a controversial move, Diana will also appear as a ghost in the new series, multiple news outlets have reported.

Diana tells Charles how ‘handsome’ he is and how much she loved him as he cries with regret, during an emotional reconciliation between the couple.

The brooding scene comes after Charles was shown sobbing over her body in a Paris hospital morgue.
