The Thai Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) apprehended a suspect in Pattaya, Chon Buri, for an alleged extortion attempt involving a French woman. Police arrested a 40 year old man at a condominium in Pattaya under a criminal court warrant.
The case dates back to 2017 when Chalermwut and the French victim reportedly recorded obscene activities while together in Thailand. Their relationship later deteriorated, leading Chalermwut to follow the victim to Vietnam, where she had relocated for work. Once their relationship ended on a sour note, Chalermwut was expelled from the victim’s residence and returned to Thailand in 2022.
Two years after their breakup, the victim received threats from Chalermwut, demanding 900 euros. He allegedly threatened to release explicit media online if the payment was not made.
He purportedly created social media accounts to disseminate the explicit content, coercing the victim into compliance. The victim reported the threats to the TCSD, which led to Chalermwut’s arrest.
During interrogation, Chalermwut admitted to the relationship and acknowledged following the victim to Vietnam. He claimed to have been assaulted and expelled without financial support, which fueled his anger, reported The Pattaya News.
Feeling wronged, he admitted to threatening to post explicit images to extort money. After receiving the payment, law enforcement officials arrested him. The suspect has been handed over to TCSD investigators for further legal proceedings.

The suspect continued to threaten her with the release of explicit footage, demanding money and even sending her naked pictures of himself.
