A teenage girl has been accused of stabbing her newborn baby to death before stashing the body in an empty dog ​​food bag in her cupboard.

Authorities had responded to a home in Gordon, Nebraska, on Monday evening after a report that a teenager had given birth and the baby was not breathing.

The affidavit states the father met the arriving officer at the door and told them it was too late, then told them where the newborn was.

After locating the newborn, the affidavit states the officer looked at the newborn and realized the throat had been cut and there were multiple stab wounds.

The teen’s mother also allegedly informed the officer “she hurt him,” referring to her daughter, and “you can see the marks.”

The officer described entering a bedroom and seeing the teen crouching near the bedroom door while her mother held the child in a towel and cried hysterically.

After attempting to provide first aid, ambulance teams arrived and took over the child’s care.

According to statements from the parents, the teenager had gone to the kitchen an hour before the incident and opened a drawer containing a boning knife.

Neither saw her remove the knife, but the officer and parents discovered it was missing after searching the drawer.

The teenager later told her mother that she had to go to a store to buy sanitary products.

After they left, one of the family’s dogs entered the teen’s bedroom, where the mother reported finding a large amount of blood on the floor and wall.

The mother said her daughter then admitted to killing the child, who her father then found in a closet in a dog food bag.

The girl was taken to a nearby hospital before being airlifted to Regional West Medical Center, where she underwent surgery.

The girl, who was arraigned Thursday in Sheridan County Court, has been appointed an attorney and is being held without bond, according to court records.

An arrest warrant was issued for the girl on November 7, which was returned the next day. She will appear in court on November 16.
