Teddi Mellencamp shares a disappointing update on her skin cancer treatment after trying out immunotherapy

Teddi Mellencamp gave a difficult update on Monday about her battle with cancer.

The 42-year-old former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star revealed that a new immunotherapy cream she started using to treat skin cancer on her back and shoulder was yet to produce results.

She shared a photo of herself naked from the waist down, highlighting the jagged red scars where she had already had some of the melanoma removed, while revealing the lack of progress in her caption.

“Update on melanoma immunotherapy: It’s been 12 days since I started using the immunotherapy cream on my shoulder, and unfortunately no blisters have developed yet,” she began.

Teddi – who was recently joined by her former castmate Kyle Richards and her rumored lover Morgan Wade for a charity 10km run – explained that blistering was a common side effect of the medicated cream, and that it could have been a sign that the effect had. on the cancer.

Up a dose: Teddi said no blisters developed on her back, which would be a sign it was working. She said her doctors were now going to increase the dose to see if that helped

“Blisters = it works,” she wrote bluntly.

She continued, noting that her doctors “increased the dosage in the hope that that would speed things up.”

‘Otherwise we will have to take the following steps: a full skin graft from my shoulder, in which the skin from my abdomen is removed.

“Let’s just say I’ve never prayed so hard for blisters,” she added.

Teddi concluded by thanking her fans and followers for their “love, support and sharing your own stories.”

“All of this gives me the strength to persevere and share mine,” she concluded, tagging the Melanoma Research Foundation and including several melanoma-themed hashtags.

At the end of September, Teddi previously announced some bad news about her battle with melanoma. She revealed that her surgeons had failed to remove every trace of the skin cancer, so she started immunotherapy to try to eradicate the remaining cells.

“Yesterday I got the call from my doctor that not all the margins are clear after my last wide excision surgery,” she wrote on Instagram.

As she announced the latest round of surgery, John Mellencamp’s daughter mused about how many biopsies she’s already undergone.

“I can’t even remember if this is the twelfth or the thirteenth,” she wrote.

It was Teddi’s former RHOBH costar Kyle Richards who helped her finally get the suspicious spots on her back examined.

While the two were training together in March 2022, Kyle stopped to point out some spots on Teddi’s back that she had noticed.

“She looked at my back and said, ‘Listen, I know I’ve talked to you about these spots before, but they look different — one of them has a black dot in the middle,’” Mellencamp told People.

It was a lucky thing, because after the discovery she had to have twelve melanomas removed.
